Yarrabilba Land Valuations Steady
Land Valuations have soared in most of Logan but the median land valuations for Land in Yarrabilba have remained steady at $140,000. As a large master planned residential community with high growth prices have been strong and other areas are only now catching up.
In contrast there was an 18.9 per cent increase in the median residential land value throughout the whole of Logan which pushed up the median value of residential land from $177,500 to $230,000 and is expected to result in a rates increase over the next 12 months.
Valuer-General Neil Bray said the increase in residential land values in Logan City was minor-to-moderate and was a result of demand for more central and affordable locations such as Browns Plains.
Mr Bray said the valuations would take effect for local government rating, state land tax and state land rental purposes on 30 June 2017.
“It is important that landowners realise that valuation notices are not rate notices,” he said.
“Rates are set by local governments under the Local Government Act 2009 when they determine their annual budgets.
